Sara Blake

Sara Blake

Hello, I'm ZSO—or Sara Blake, if you like. I'm an illustrator, fine artist, and designer, living and loving in New York City. I run a boutique illustration and design studio. When I'm not making scribbles, I also enjoy having conversations with my cat Eugene O'Neill, going for runs, riding my bike, exploring gastronomic delights, naps, "quiet-time," and traveling as much as the universe allows.

ZSO (pronounced |zō|) is a collection of letters that I find aesthetically and phonetically beautiful, culled together from some personally significant people, places, and things. Together they make a sound much like “so,” the adverb which means "to such a great extent.” I am a person of extremes, for better or worse (most often the latter), so the ring of it was fitting, and the moniker has since stuck for good.

I graduated from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study with a concentration in Graphic Art and Postmodern Studies—I've been working in design and art direction ever since. Based out of the West Village, I work both as a designer as well as an independent illustration studio. I also own and manage a small textile company called ZSO-NYC. I've been so super stoked to have the opportunity to work for clients like Alo Drinks, Nike, Ford, Hurley, IBM, Wired Magazine, Scotch & Soda, Sakroots, TEDx Labs, and SGCNY.

Mario Klingemann

Mario Klingemann

Mario Klingemann, alias Quasimondo, is what you get when you cross the analytic mind of a coder with the creative fervor of an artist and add a little bit of mad scientist mentality to the mix. In his aim to surprise himself and his audience he constantly tries to explore uncharted territories in order to discover unseen beauty and unthought ideas. A key factor in his work is the drive to overcome limitations by creatively repurposing and recombining objects and systems to reveal their hidden qualities. His creations have been exhibited in international art shows and won acclaim among critics as exemplary pieces of net art. Pieces like Mona Tweeta, ScribblerToo, Flickeur, Dada Visualization, Like This or his Pie Packing series have made their way into uncounted best-of lists and got featured in many articles. He enjoys sharing his explorations and discoveries on design and technology conferences worldwide, has co-founded the Munich FabLab and is currently working as code artist at Psykosoft Inc.

Evan's work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art NYC and has been exhibited at various institutions, including the Centre Pompidou, the Kunsthalle Wien, the Tate and the front page of Youtube. He has received numerous awards, including the Golden Nica from Prix Ars Electronica, Rhizome/The New Museum commissions and the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award. Boris Schneider-Johne

Boris Schneider-Johne, self-appointed “Director of Enthusiasm”, has worked as a programmer, producer, translator, PR drone, journalist and more. For many years he was fascinated by technology, computers and code. Now he is even more enchanted by human psychology and how anything but logic rules our daily lives. His interests include frequent visits to Disneyland, stage magic and illusions, reading up on current brain research and psychology, playing anything from board to video games and trying not to be afraid of the looming economic collapse (which might not happen anyway).

His contributions to German culture include the translation of the “Monkey Island” games from Lucasarts, which still gets him free drinks and very odd situations for box signings, as well as running the bestselling PC magazine in Europe in 1996, “PC Player”. He has been hanging out at Microsoft Germany for the past 17 years (they pay rather well), ten of them doing marketing for Xbox. He currently tries to convince media and bloggers that Windows 8 is not as bad as its reputation. Boris is an active member of Mensa Germany (“MinD”).
